the short flight west
C-Print, 2 texts, framed, (40 cm x 60 cm)
Documentation of the attempt to repeat the century-long migration of the silk moth from China to Central Europe in a few days by buying a few living cocoons in one of the food markets in Beijing, flying with them back to Paris to hatch them there and release them there into the European fauna. The work consists of a photo of one of the hatched ones and a juxtaposition of the historical records of the migration with my personal notes taken in the course of this project.
